The illustrated Spyderco Knife is the Spyderco Bradley Bowie Knife, designed by knife maker Gayle Bradley, that features a 5.13 inch bowie style fixed blade made of PSF27 tool steel. The blade of this Spyderco knife has a full flat grind, a top swedge and a wrist lanyard hole. The Bradley Bowie Knife has full tang construction for strength; polished G10 scales attached with tubular rivets that function as lanyard holes. A Boltaron sheath with GClip is included with this Spyderco Knife. The Spyderco Bradley Bowie Knife has an overall length of 9.93 inches and it weighs 7.7 ounces. Made in Taiwan.
From the Spyderco website regarding PSF27 steel : The Bradley Bowie’s blade is precision ground from PSF27 an incredibly tough sprayformed tool steel. Like the particle metallurgy process, spray forming rapidly solidifies molten steel into small particles so its component alloys cannot “segregate” or settle. This creates an ultra,fine, extremely homogenous grain structure that is ideal for knife blades. PSF27’s alloy composition includes molybdenum, vanadium and a generous 1.55% carbon, but because its chromium content is 12% just below the official threshold for stainless steel care should be taken to maintain it properly.
