The blade of this Spyderco knife has a non reflective black DLC coat, a flat grind, a subtle top swedge, a notched thumb rest for secure grip, and the Spyderco hole for ambidextrous one hand opening. The contoured black FRN (fiberglass reinforced nylon) handle, 4.00″ closed, has BiDirectional Texturing, a lockback and a large lanyard hole. A four position steel pocket clip is included with this Spyderco Knife. The Spyderco Native 5 FRN Knife has an overall open length of 6.95″ and it weighs 2.5 ounces. Made in the USA.
From the Spyderco website: Proudly manufactured in our factory in Golden, Colorado, the Native5 features a spear point blade made from premium CPM S30V stainless steel. Its fullflat grind, distal taper, textured indexfinger choil and thumb ramp, and understated swedge collectively offer a distinctive appearance and outstanding edge geometry and point utility. The blade is supported by a highly refined back lock mechanism that takes this timetested lock design and elevates it to a new standard of engineering and manufacturing excellence.
The linerless FRN handle features BiDirectional Texturing™ for an ultrasecure grip and reduces the overall weight of the knife to a scant 2.5 ounces. The handle also houses four sets of threaded inserts molded directly into the FRN. These allow the improved hourglass clip to be positioned for left or rightside tipup or tipdown carry. A generously sized lanyard hole also provides a handy attachment point for lanyards, fobs, and safety lines.
